Stephen Howard
Stephen Howard is a historian of philosophy specialised in modern and early modern philosophy, with a focus on Kant, natural philosophy, and metaphysics.
From September 2025, he is the principle investigator of a research project at the Goethe-Universität Frankfurt, exploring what he calls Kant's 'regulative cosmology'.
After receiving ahis PhD from the Centre for Research in Modern European Philosophy, Kingston University London, he held junior and senior postdoctoral fellowships at KU Leuven, Belgium (2018-21, 2021-24), funded by the Research Foundation – Flanders, and a research fellowship at FRIAS, Universität Freiburg, Germany. He has been a visiting scholar at the universities of Ca' Foscari Venice, Notre Dame and Bucharest. He also teaches philosophy at the P.A.R.T.S. dance school in Brussels.
