Gabriel Schenker US

Gabriel Schenker was born in Washington D.C., grew up in Rio de Janeiro, and has lived in Brussels since 2004. He started his dance career with the Deborah Colker company in Rio, in the early 2000's.

He studied at PARTS between 2004 and 2008, after which he co-founded the Busy Rocks collective, with whom he created, performed and toured extensively until 2014. As a performer, Gabriel has also worked with choreographers Eleanor Bauer, Robin Jonsson, Doris Stelzer, Louise Vanneste, Alexandra Bachzetsis, Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker/Rosas, and on a regular basis with Thomas Hauert/ZOO. He completed an MA in philosophy at the European Graduate School and in anthropology at the KU Leuven. He is a certified Pilates as well as climbing instructor.

He has taught extensively dance, theory, and Pilates in different educational programmes. He has accompanied Thomas Hauert in the development and direction of the dance BA at the Manufacture/Lausanne since its inception in 2014 and up until 2025. He led the EU funded research program Diversity in Higher Dance Education between 2023 and 2025 in collaboration with PARTS, La Manufacture, SKH, and the University of Amsterdam.

He joined the PARTS team in 2026 as Head of Creative Practice.
