Biography Mira Maria Studer
Mira (she/they) was born in 1996 in Switzerland with Peruvian roots and is based in Brussels. After being trained in music and singing, she completed a BA in contemporary dance at La Manufacture in Lausanne CH, and continued training at La Faktoria in Pamplona ES. They understand choreography and music as chiasmatic partners between which her work oscillates. She is part of the Swiss-based performance collective noDIN, which was supported by Danse & Dramaturgie by ProHelvetia in 2021, and premiered two works at Südpol, Luzern Choose your weapon 2020 and I am many, I contains multitudes 2022. In the frame of the STUDIOS MA at p.a.r.t.s. their artistic research is currently focused on the distortion of the gesture of singing in conversation with digital audio work-stations. It is a practice of disorientation to give rise to (no new) landscapes from which strange, uncontained voices might emanate. She loves karaoke.
